The best advice I could give would be to try to get involved in activities to forget about him.

The less you try to understand or interpret the motivations behind what happened, the better off you will be, since there is no way to justify or understand what he did and you'll simply make yourself less happy in reflecting about it.

Let yourself wallow a bit, but you are doing the best thing by surrounding yourself by better people. First break ups are the worst, especially when they crash and burn.

I'm sorry First relationships can leave terrible pain. Try not to think about him too much (impossible? I know... but make an effort). If you are on facebook, try to block his news feed and make every attempt to never go on it, even if you have to delete him for a while or avoid facebook. Surround yourself with positive energy from friends or family or this message board or AFI or anyone.

My dad tells me often that if we let our emotions control us then all we are is emotion. Sometimes, it helps to wallow a bit and listen to sad songs and be upset. You have a right to be. But there has to come a time when you push that aside and move on, and thats the toughest part.
