All year long I was thinking that I wasn’t in touch with newer music as I used to be and was originally going to skip doing a list like this. However, that isn’t true at all because while I’m not as into music as I was in high school or when I was a staff writer for Scene Point Blank, there were a ton of great records I got to listen to this year so I’m going to make a list anyway. I posted this on my tumblr a few weeks ago but I figured that I would share it here as well. Just a few notes first; 1. I want to avoid futile genre debates about what is punk and what isn't. 2. I tried to keep it to one record per band. 3. "Favorite" doesn't mean the same as "best." 4. I did this for fun so don't take it seriously.

This was one of the more difficult end of the year lists I had to do because there was a lot of music released in 2010 which I really enjoyed. What a way to start off the decade! What made it difficult was that there were a lot of albums which I loved but it was hard to pin down one real stand out to name my album of the year. My parents were pretty quick to look for a new dog after our old one passed away in October. We went to this one place in Thurmont to look for a few and we got attached to this one pictured below. She's an 8 week old Australian Shepherd and my parents picked her up yesterday. Too bad I'm at college right now and won't get to see her for a few months. I'm excited to go home already!
