I kicked off a new eating better/calorie counting/exercising every day/taking vitamins/weight loss regime three weeks ago and have lost FIVE POUNDS already. I'm so proud of myself.
Also, I got some new shoes today. They're supposed to help tone my ass and legs. They are quite bouncy. I feel like Tigger.
There will probably be more before too long.

I made many many changes to my life this past year. HUGE changes. (Broke up with a longtime boyfriend, had a mental breakdown, made myself ill, moved to the city, got my first full time job, met lots of new people including an amazing new man I don't plan on letting go of, etc.) Also, I am getting my first house! I can't wait to get the ball rolling on buying this house and building that little nest I've always wanted.
Phew, man. This feels good. I am happier than I ever remember
Today was my observation day, tagging along with a field manager to see what canvassing is like. Here are some observations.
1) Most people are nice and don't, you know...support pollution.
2) More people than you'd ever imagine care enough to write letters to their state representatives when they're asked to.
3) Kids are adorable.
4) Dogs are always trying to run outside.
5) Old people really REALLY hate people talking to them about the environment. Like

I interviewed for a community/political organizer position today for a local environmental advocacy group and pretty much nailed it. Tomorrow I tag along for an observation/volunteer day and based on my performance I'll be assigned a full-time position. I'm so geekily excited, I can't help myself. I'm basically going to get paid to help promote environmental causes I already sincerely care about, canvassing around north Texas neighborhoods, participating
