I did it. I managed to go four full weeks on a vegan diet. I lost about 5 lbs. in the process and I don't feel as tired or weighed down as I used to after eating. So after two weeks I've lost a bit of weight, I have more energy, and we're saving some money. It was expensive in the first week because we had to buy a lot of supplies but now it's primarily getting produce and proteins. I haven't yet decided if I want to extend the vegan thing through Easter but given that milk now kinda grosses me out, I just might.

Well, it looks like I won't have to look for a job and place to live in Toronto, Winnipeg, or Vancouver anytime soon. The people of the US got it right and most efforts at vote fraud failed miserably. It's times like this that I am proud to be an American and that I exercised my right to vote.
