Of Sickness and Midterm Exams

Rate this Entry
Well, this is my first blog entry on here. Since I'm absolutely horrible at remember to update blogs and journals, this'll probably die quite soon.

Anyway, midterm exams start tomorrow morning at my school. Yes, we were some of the unfortunate ones who were blessed with worrying about exams throughout Christmas break instead of getting them over with in December. Oh, well. My first exam is at 9:00 tomorrow, and I'm quite nervous about it. Exam week officially ends next Thursday, but thankfully, because of the way my exams were scheduled, my last one is on Monday. This means that I get next Tuesday to Friday off, which I am definitely excited about. During my days off, I plan on getting together with my friends and recording some new cover songs for our YouTube account. I also plan on catching up on my writing.

While we're on the subject of writing, I've noticed that this time around, I have been highly distracted by random story ideas floating around in my head. During the time that I should be revising my worksheets, I have been typing up Chapter Four of my latest work-in-progress. As much as I love writing, a part of me wishes that I could shut down my imagination for just this week so I could concentrate on my studies properly.

I mentioned sickness in my title, didn't I? Thankfully, I am not sick at the moment, but one of my younger brothers has been quite weak lately. We got the results back from his doctor today, and he suggested that his medication dosage should be lowered. He'll probably wind up missing even more days of school, but I'd rather that he fight the infection and get better as opposed to spending more time at school feeling miserable and not getting any healthier.

Anyway, I suppose I'll conclude this ramble here. I need to get back to studying literary devices.
