The Night Broke

I've been a member of the DF for... I don't know, about five years, not a very active member. Going to change that now that I pay the bills and I know the internet will be on next month. But, not getting into any of that... So, this being my first blog, in May, I finally got to go see AFI live. Not something I had ever been able to do before, seeing as my situation had been a little to the... can't afford to breathe side of things. But, once out on my own, the first time I got a chance, I went. It was amazing. After waiting for sooo long to see them, I was so amazed at the energy, and just.. well, I can't wait to see them again. And the anticipation of what it would be like was no where near as great as actually being there. It meant a lot to have gone, and I got to go with a friend of mine who is as touched by the music as I am. Anyway, so I figured this would be appropriate, first show written as my first blog.

Yeah, I'm corny and emotional.

First times are always the best. I remember my first AFI show; it was a damn festival, and they only played 8 songs. However, the spark of it being my first show was there, and I enjoyed it better than the rest of times I've seen them. Besides, my situation was kind of the same as yours, not being able to go to shows till I was sort of on my own. Now I miss shows, for bands rarely come over here to play, but I've had my share, so I can't really complain.

I went to my first AFI show in December. A couple of my friends and I drove down in a blizzard. It was well worth it. The first show is always so special. I'm glad you finally got yours <3

It's definitely an experience I can't wait to have again.. I love the small, intimate club settings more than the big huge mega concerts, I was so happy that I got to go to the Valarium for my first show ^.^
