Black arrows cut the strings of my heart

Yesterday I formatted my MP3 player and populated it with random songs taken from random folders in my computer. This morning on my way to work, after a couple of songs there came Billy Talent's "White Sparrows". As the song was coming to its end, I noticed that it had done something I am not used to when listening to songs, which is giving me teary eyes.
I never stopped to question why I like sad songs. Living in a world that's poisoned with hypocresy and selfishness, and tainted with despondency and sorrow, why bothering feeding the fire and listening to this kind of music? Maybe it is because it gives me a quick "glance" of the real world, presenting it as it is without any masks. This song in particular called my attention because it is quite straighforward, and deals with the subject of the death of a loved one cutting to the chase. Those who have had the unfortunateness of suffering the loss of a loved one can be easily touched by any line of the song.
But I'm not looking for answers, no I'm not looking for answers, but dear god why did you ... ?
Life as it is.
Take care![]()
