does every couple break up at some point or another in their relationship?

most couples I know who have been together for a long time have broken up some time. I'm just wondering, what's your personal experience and do you think it's right to give it a go again? How long was the wait before you two got back together? A few days, weeks, months, years? Please comment!

    My mom and dad are always telling me that they broke up and got back together every five minutes in high school.

    My own view is never go back. There have been times when i've wondered 'what if', but even when i'm at my lowest, given the chance to go back and change things, i still wouldn't. That being said, a close friend of mine broke up with her boyfriend of 4 years, then got back with him a couple years later. 2 years on from that and she's still with him and never been happier.

    Some people can do it and others can't. I've known couples who break-up every couple of weeks but in the long run would never even bother dating anyone else. Personally, I've given relationships a second chance twice before but in the end it didn't work out. Its a lot more common when people are younger and/or inexperienced. When you're more mature and actually know what you want then, you tend not to bullshit around and mean what you say/do. That's just how I see it. Ultimately you just have to follow your heart.
