A Sad Day

Rate this Entry
This morning, around 7:30 am, my grandfather lost his long, tiring battle with lung cancer and the other medical ailments that plagued him. While the loss is, of course, sad and painful, it's a relief knowing he's no longer in pain or suffering. The family is taking things well and the services are scheduled for the coming week. I'll offer up some more details later when I feel like writing.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. I went through exactly the same thing earlier this year with my own grandfather. His was a secondary tumour that laid dormant for five years after he beat bowel cancer.

If you need to talk, feel free to drop me a line. My email and what have you are in my profile.

Hi - I just saw this - I met you last year in Syracuse. I am very sorry for your loss. I lost my mom to cancer too.

My grandmother had cancer a few times and had terrible pain there toward the end. It's good he's out of pain now, but it's sad he had to go in order for that to happen.

I'm so, so sorry to hear that. I've never experience having a grandparent die, so I can't say I know how you feel. I'm glad he'll be in a better place now, but I'm not glad because you have to experience him going.
