Headaches = evil

I get headaches quite often. Actually, I can't remember a week going by without me getting a headache since I was a kid. Since I've had them so often, I can generally ignore them without too much trouble. But the trouble is when it's a severe enough one that I can't just ignore it. The ones that I can't ignore are worse than being hit in the head with a sword - and yes, I can say that from experience.

The other problem is that over-the-counter painkillers don't work on me, and haven't for several years. See, when I was younger, my parents would jump on me to take a painkiller if I so much as thought I felt a headache coming on. After a few years, this led me to gaining a tolerance that hasn't worn off.

It's a bit of a problem. I can't take painkillers because they don't do anything, and I'm not about to get prescription painkillers for something I can just sleep off. Admittedly the worst of these headaches keep me awake, but I do always get to sleep eventually. Oh well. C'est la vie.

    I don't get headaches. I can't even remember the last time I had a headache that wasn't actually the feeling of hypoglycaemia. I feel bad for you though. I know what it's like being immune to medication.

    Ugh, I can't imagine not being able to take pills for headaches. I get them pretty often, though not nearly as frequently as you, so I kinda rely on meds a lot of the time. But I don't want to build a tolerance so I try to not take them for every little headache. I don't think I could be in your situation and not be more bitter about it.

    I got a migraine a couple nights ago while away from home and couldn't find any medication. I even had friends searching the hotel for me while I took a hot shower which I had hoped would relieve me a little. It did not. So I got to sleep that off without any pills and it was HELL.
