And just like that...A franchise is dead to me.
Well. It was dead to me after Gears of Resident Evil 5 came out.

NO!!!! How could they? If I wanted to play Call of Duty, I'd play Call of Duty. WTF?! I should have seen this coming. I loved RE4, 5 was eh. I liked how Leon looked better in 4 anyways....who needs 6 to be a masterpiece? Psh, I'll just replay the old ones....
does anybody here or has anybody played Dark Souls? i have been playing it again after a long break and it's still one of the craziest games ever. i'm still trying to figure it out while minimizing my amount of deaths. i just wanted to talk to someone if anyone was into it... how far does the rabbit hole go?
destroy all humans
So is that a no on Operation Raccoon City?

Well, I want to play that one haha...and Revelations....gah, I'll probably play 6 too.....I'm a sucker for RE.
I bet someone's already posted on this here, but anybody infatuated with Journey? I've not played it, but I plan on picking up my copy once my damn PS3 is fixed.
Not played it yet either, but it does look amazing. A friend of mine got it and she loves it.
As for Resident Evil, I'm looking forward to 6. When I first watched the trailer my heart sunk, and I pretty much lost any enthusiasm left, however there is a good video on one of the games sites that dissects the trailer, and reveals one or 2 things, that after watching the trailer a couple of more times built my hopes back up again. As long as they get rid of the bollocks co-op gameplay that ruined 5, or at least make it so it actually works and isn't game breaking. I'm all for the evolution of the series. As much as I love the earlier games (2 is one of my all time favourite games, and 4 probably is), they are dated, and making a game like either of them now would end up being a let down. Lets be honest, if 5 had came out instead of 4, then we'd probably be raving about it. Capcom took a leap of faith with 4, drastically moving away from the roots of the series, and came up good. 5 however was basically just a rehash of 4, but given the 5 year gap, nowhere near the advances that were expected, and just felt like a massive anti climax. I'm wondering though if Capcom were too ambitious with 5. There were many features, such as the whole having to adapt to temperature, and dark and light that were promised, but never made it into the game. I kind of got the feeling that they basically realised they were never going to be able to make the game they initially wanted, and were running out of time, so just threw something together to get a release.
As for Operation Raccoon City, i think i'll let that one rot. Looks shit and the reviews pretty much support my expectations of what this game will be like.
"Yes I'm definitely going to hell, but i'll have all the best stories to tell"
RE5 was such a hunk of shit from top to bottom.
I'm cool with RE moving on. Zombie media is getting tired as fuck. A sweet mash-up like Metal Gear Solid meets any political thriller film would be pretty bad ass. Like, take Code Veronica, for instance. The basis was Claire looking for Chris. Something like that without zombies everywhere could still be bad ass. Or maybe take the cult stuff from RE4 and make something more Da Vinci Code-like. I'm all about the quick gameplay, puzzle solving, great storytelling, and what not.
Speaking of RE, it is my personal opinion that the franchise died with RE: Nemesis, for no Resident Evil decent title was released post PS1.
Anyone got Silent Hill: Downpour yet? My copy is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, along with SH2 and SH3 remastered. I've read in reviews of the game that it tends to freeze a lot, at least the PS3 version of it. Anyone know anything about this?
On another subject, I'm currently in a Final Fantasy mood. After beating XIII-2, I'm revisiting the different worlds trying to gather all the fragments. Once I've played both this and the original FFXIII, I think that I like the first one better, mostly because in the second part, the only change in your battle party lies in your pokemon. Being stuck with Noel and Serah can be tiring sometimes. I miss fighting with Hope, and Vanille, and Fang. Hell I miss them all.
Amazing fights in FFXIII-2:
- Final confrontations: I must say, having an average development for my party made these battles pretty epic, especially the last one, that took almost 50 minutes.
- Yomi: One of the fragments in the Archylte Steppe. Possibly the hardest battle I've had to fight so far.
- Long Gui: I had Fang in FFXIII, who made this battle so much easier. With Noel and Serah I must say it is a bit more challenging.
- Oh, there is another one I'm not mentioning for it could be considered a spoiler :\
