Yeah what the fuck? That's an extremely distorted view of what hardcore is, with the exception of a few bands. We have people like that here too; I was at a gig this one time and some guy asked me if I liked hadcore. The conversation went like this:
Me: "Yeah I love it! I went and saw Sick of it All last week when they came here, it was awesome. Miles Away are a pretty decent Perth hardcore band too, I like their style. What bands have you seen recently?"
Him: "Oh I saw Parkway Drive recently, it was awesome. I really like I Killed the Prom Queen too."
Me: "Wut?"
