Prelude 12/21 directly translates to 'The introduction of December 21st' and that is exactly what this song is about.

The actor finally made it to decemberunderground, where he met his lover at last. He brought her a ring, to show his love for her, and he said "This is what I brought you. This you can keep" He told her she may forget him, because he could die in the next coming days. He promises her his heart and to never leave her side. Instead of kissing on the lips, he wants her to kiss his eyes, so he can sleep and not have to witness the dreadful day. And they slept.
December 22nd - 37mm
"Just give me your hands; and I'll let you feel the wounds they put in me"
"If you'd believe me, I'd tell you everything"
"Silence, can you hear me?"

They awoke the next day frightened, but alive and well (The strange breathing sounds in the beginning was them waking up). They had gotten a few wounds. "Just give me your hands and show you the wounds they put in me", said the actor. He showed his love the large, deep cut on his hand. He had no idea what happened that night. His lover said she didn't understand what was going on, and didn't believe aliens were coming to visit from a distant planet. "If you'd believe me, I'd tell you everything", he said. He told her everything he knew, and she believed him. The world was silent now. Once famous movie stars, they are no one now.
January 10th - Miss Murder
"Hey Miss Murder can I make beauty stay if I take my life?"

Its been a few weeks now and the actor has had thoughts of suicide. He asks Miss Murder (God) that if he takes his life, will beauty (his lover) stay alive? He wonders why God chose to leave them behind, but kill everyone else. God's children are crying, and they don't deserve to suffer like this. He then goes on to talk about the Annunaki (the aliens). By just looking at them you can anger them, and when you look at them, you'll become extremely frightened (break your heart). The couple continued to search for what they were promised, a good life.
May 20th - Summer Shudder

The actor has had it with this so called 'life' and decides today will be his final day of living.
He shouts to the sky, "Listen what I say! What I say is real!" "Everything you take, makes life even more unreal" The more they have to suffer and the more that is taken away from them makes it seem even more like a dream; as if they could make up any minute. The actor's love decides to take her life, also. When will they die and be invisible? Before they carry out their plan, they decide to call every number they knew, to see if any loved ones were still alive (This is why you hear someone dialing a number in the song). No one answered. The couple climbs up on top of a tall building in the city. "The is the fall! This is the long way down!", the actor shouts down. Their lives are much smaller now, they have nothing to live for.
May 20th - Kiss and Control
Kiss and Control leaves off in the same spot Summer Shudder did, the couple are on the building the whole time during this whole song. They could end their lives any second.

What came from the stars, has turned them into nothing. His lover becomes scared, "I'll swallow your fear", he said. They kissed. "I'll show you how...." The actor was about to jump, but she stopped him. She was having second thoughts about her suicide. "One more time steal my breath", she said. They held hands and kissed again. The actor then shouted, "We all want to die like movie stars, as you jumped from the height of our cutting room floor. While above us glowing, exploding, our dreams burst forth in light in death. Hold me and tell me, we'll burn like stars!" They stepped closer to the edge now. "We'll burn as we fall. Watch as the city lights dance for us!" Then, they took the jump, together. The couple will no longer have to suffer any more.
