Too Much Metal for Just One Forum (Metal Thread)

Lately I've been spinning a lot of Melvins, and a couple of days ago I did some nice, heavy drone jams with my friends. We all kept rotating instruments and coming up with hilariously stereotypical sounding drone songs.

Top 5 Metal Bands as of late:

    Melvins
    Jucifer
    Karp
    Municipal Waste
    High on Fire

My friend bought his first three Melvins albums the other day. Stoner Witch, Houdini, and fucking Bullhead. I dunno if he's listened to them yet, but I'll be shocked if he doesn't love them.

Anyway, top 5 as of late:
    Gorgoroth
    Akercocke
Wolves in the Throne Room (keep forgetting to get their new EP)
    Boris
and I dunno, does Converge count? I haven't actually been listening to much metal.

Wow, the last thread was huge !

    Anywho, a current top 5.

    Celtic Frost
    Nachmystium
    Darkthrone
    Satyricon
    Metallica.

Apparently I'm on a bit of a BM kick at the moment.

Aww the old metal thread finally got closed.

I'm just starting to get back into more metal after mainly listening punk for awhile.

Here some of the bands I've been digging recently:

    Kyuss
    Alestorm
    Baroness
    Amon Amarth
    Darkest Hour

I have been listening to Slayer's Show No Mercy almost exclusively this week.

I just realized, again, how awesome Moonsorrow is. I'm following along with the lyrics in Finnish. What a badass language.

Is anyone else interested in hearing Shrinebuilder?

If you haven't heard, it's basically a doom metal super group consisting of Scott Kelly, Wino, Dale Crover, and Al Cisneros.

Thank god that last thread was closed. It always took forever to load up because it was so huge. Nice ending with the Sigil of Baphomet ;-)

I need to check out Moonsorrow. They're coming to my area 'cuz of the Paganfest along with Ensiferium and Korpiklaani.
