It doesn't matter anyway cause everything this band does rules
If AFI's albums ever started to sound the same, I would be quite disappointed.
Same here, Lonely.
ALSO: (I can't figure out how to edit.) Halloween and I talked about this privately, and I think he now understands why afi's sound changed, but he's still disappointed that they aren't the same angry youths they once were. He has his own opinions. And he is entitled to them, just like we're entitled to ours. So no need to dog on him (@everyone else) he was just wondering, what happened. Which influences changed, why they did and other such questions as that.
But that's the thing, they aren't in their youth any more.
I'm not the same person I was when I was 16 and they aren't the same people as they were in their twenties. I personally find it ridiculous when you have a 40 year old still getting up on stage singing about how much high school sucks.
They grew up and changed, just like everyone does. Do I prefer Black Sails to Crash Love? Of course I do, but those days aren't coming back and as some have said I would rather them keep changing rather than make Sing the Sorrow over and over again.
Yes.....and I totally agree. I'm just saying, this obviously upsets homeboy and he is entitled to his opinions......like both of US are. We both think (or know, depending on how you look at it) that afi has grown up and that their sound changed because they changed. And I told him this. His opinion is that this is a bad change, and I am gathering that you are of the same opinion as I am that this change is very good. It just means they're growing up. Which is good, because they are grown up, they should act like it. I also told him that.....he just...I don't know. I guess he's dissapointed???
Ill always love whatever AFI does, I respect them for changing. However, I do miss the old AFI days more than I like the new days. I have come to accept the change, but I do miss Daveys screams and Halloween references.
If it didn't evolve and grow, it wouldn't be AFI.
They have too much to express and far too much talent to repeat the same album over and over again.

When the music hits, I feel no pain at all.
