Texting and driving is a gigantic problem here! I mean, I've driven past people who are just sitting stationary in the middle of a clear lane, cause they're too busy on their phones to realize they need to move. Of course, drunken driving is also terrible. Over 1000 people have died in SA through road accidents since 1 December. And here, speed limits, road rules etc are seen more as guidelines than actual law. If you drive 60 kph (the usual residential roads limit) people will literally try to force you off the road.

22 people commented on her post, and they were all sympathetic. And she went on and on about how they made her do the field test and that just made her feel violated. Seriously she felt violated because she did something illegal and stupid. I'm just in so much shock that people actually felt bad for her.

Its so crazy when I hear about people with multiple DUIs, I just don't understand why you would do it over and over.

I feel the same way about texting. What the hell could be that important? I kinda feel the same way about eating and driving too though. It just baffles me when I see the person next too me eating a chilly cheese dog, smoking a cigarette, texting and driving all at once. Reminds of this time I was in rush hour, I've been rear ended before so I'm always paranoid about the person behind me, and I look in the rear view mirror and its some lady plucking her moustache. 1. I suppose this is only slightly related, but I hate when people try to use God as a sympathy mechanism. It's pretty idiotic to ask for prayer when you got yourself into a situation like that (which I doubt any God would help out in the first place) but if she had just said "Please keep me in your thoughts," I think there would have been more of the 'You're stupid and do not need sympathy' reaction rather than 'I'm sorry this happened to you, I'm praying for you, I hope you're alright.'

That being said, nobody should be comforting her. She NEEDS to go to jail and learn her lesson - she doesn't need pity.

Getting drunk with a pair of keys in your pocket is definitely one of the most retarded things anyone can do.

That being said. I don't mind when people consume one or two beverages with dinner before driving home. All about knowing your limits.

Getting one DUI is stupid enough, but getting up to 3 or more? You'd think people like that would learn their lesson the first time. If you're going to drink or be under the influence of any substance, please, please, please make sure you have a designated driver or some safe way of transportation that doesn't involve you driving. It's reckless and inconsiderate to put yourself and other people in danger because of these things so take the steps to be safe or don't drink at all.

    Yes.

    A. If there is a god, they've got better things to do than help out a drunken dumbass

I feel bad for your friend.
Not because she got a DUI, but the fact that she has people who are "friends" supporting the fact that it's wrong that she got one. Seriously, what a dumb bitch.

Well, I'm not gonna lie and be all innocent here, but I have gone behind the wheel when in that stupid mode quite a few times. No DUIs though (Got lucky I guess). At the same time, I don't pity a person getting a DUI neither. They know they weren't suppose to drive. They shoulda planned accordingly and have a designated driver or have enough money for a cab on the way home. It's really not that hard. I do know some people will think they're invincible or go "Oh, I'm not that drunk." even when they're stumbling all over the ground, and can't even walk. That does hapen to some people as well and their thinking is stupid and they don't realie how fucked up they really are. I know people who got DUIs, and they learned their lesson. But really, it's not that hard to have a good plan and just get a buddy who will drive you home. Everyone knows the law. You caught drinking in the road, you're in trouble. There is no excuse for her, me, or anyone else who does it. Hopefully they learned their lesson cus it could be worst... Kill herself, or someone else.
