And apparently all the songs on Crash Love are 30 seconds long...
Arms from #10, legs from #24, torso from #3 and last but not least, head from #12

Good, I'm not the only one who noticed.

i think crash love had a few great songs on it but nothing compares to sing the sorrow. that cd was perfect in every way. if they can get back to that vibe it would be awesome!

At some level, I feel most here agree. However, AFI is an eclectic group whose sound has changed greatly from one album to the next, so it's unlikely that they would. At any rate, it's best that they don't. Should they attempt to recapture that, I feel it would seem too much like they were trying to recapture it and it would be emotionless rather than carrying the same feeling. Anyway, they always keep a couple sombre songs on their records. Too Late For Gods is a great example of that same vibe with the new glamourous sheen they've got going.

I just noticed that the official AFI Twitter posted 54 days ago, "through our bleeding...".

Now, not to get anyone's hopes up, but wheels may be in motion...?

I just want to know what's going to be going on with AFI for the next 6 months, if anything at all.
We're going to get a little sort of a session going. A session that will feature the rhythm section.

in lieu of all the reminiscing, according to mikey rhino the original decemberunderground sounded nothing like what the album is; the label was not pleased with the first product and not very many people heard it. this was one of many reasons he liked Brand New (he also did sound for them for a long time) more than AFI, because Brand New does what they want, always.

I can't help but lose a little respect there. I can say for sure that I'll never listen to that album the same again.

And shit, now I wanna hear those demos.

The guy from Death By Stereo has also said this. Not to mention I remember an article from AP with Davey around '05 where he had said that the writing process and the sound was much darker than STS and he expected it to incorporate more of a NIN/VNV feel to it.

There's a bunch more stuff that he posted on his formspring, but I don't think the board welcomes these type of things.

To be honest, I have never completely made it through the entire album start to finish and I have no desire to go back and try to. I just don't like the album....everything about it is so bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.
