John Cusack is Edgar Allan Poe

    Hello all,
I am not sure if there has been a post about this, so I thought I would start one.
As many of you probably know there is a movie being released April 27th(tomorrow) entitled The Raven.
This movie is about a serial killer who is a fan of Edgar Allan Poe and is recreating scenes from some of Poe's most gruesome work. Poe teams up with a detective to stop this madman from killing again. This all happens on the last weeks of Poe's life.
John Cusack stars in this thriller.

    What are your guys thoughts?
Personally, I am stoked. I am a huge fan of Poe and love John. I find this story line very intriguing. I plan on seeing it tomorrow and hope that it meets my expectations. Any of you guys going to see it? What story are you most looking forward to/hoping is included in the movie?

I really want to see this movie. I really love Poe's writing style, especially the way in which The Raven (poem) is written; the line "and my sould from out that shadow that lies floating on the door Shall be lifted - nevermore" is probably one of the most beautifully and soul-touching line one has ever written.

I already know The Pit and The Pendulum is featured in the film (saw it in the trailer!). I also like the Cask of Amontillado a lot.

I love Poe, and John Cusack, but I think John is way too hale and hearty to portray Poe at the end of his life when he was rife with alcoholism and sickness. But, I plan on seeing it. Should be entertaining, anyway.

I'm also dubious as to how John will portray Edgar. i don't see him as the right person to do it. But let's wait and hope...

    As for this:

My mind played tricks on me. 'sould' is a damn typo (soul). And 'door' should obviously read 'floor'.

I feel like this is going to be bastardized like Sherlock Holmes was.

    Quite a few.
    Premature Burial
    Tell Tale Heart
    The Cask of Amontillado
    Pit and The Pendulum
The Murders At The Rue Morgue
The Masque of the Red Death
    The Mystery of Marie Rogêt
    Also the poems
    The Raven
    Annabel Lee
and A Dream Within A Dream are included into the movie.
There may be more, but those are the ones I noticed.
