reason for the missing high pitched glory of davey?

does anyone remember when davey injured his vocal chords towards the end of last year...or the year before that, I'm not to sure on my time frame here. but do you guys think that this may have something, in addition to the band moving in their new direction, to do with the fact that you dont hear daveys beautiful high pitched woh-oh's ? My man-wife and i were listening to DU, and we were talking about the band and stuff when we realized that there are no nifty who-oh's to be found anywhere...
please dont get this confused with everyone else's posts of mourning, i'll do that on my own time.

I didn't like when he did those false, nasally, not-quite-reached highs when he sang. There are a few whoa's and an "oh!" Honestly, I get tired of the little "oh's", so I'm glad I only really noticed one.

I think that it is a stylistic thing, versus as vocal production thing. The album has a very different feel than StS/AoD (where the wo-ohs are the most prevalent). I also doubt that the "wo-ohs" would injure Davey's voice. If one compares that to the amounts of screaming that he does (albeit with proper breath support), the screaming would have more of a negative impact on his voice.

I really like the sound of this album...I don't think his voice has ever sounded better.

I don't think the overall sound of DU is due to his past vocal injuries, but more of just a moving forward thing

According to Davey, he's completely healed and singing better than ever. If he "brings it down from the rafters" for a few songs, that doesn't mean he has lost his ability for pristine, high vocals.

I do love the woah's, but I don't think they have a place on this album.

His voice sounds alot better now, the high-pitches on Kiss and Control are fabulous.
