yea i think converge is pretty hard to listen to. mainly because of his voice. i feel sorry for him, because it sounds like his vocal chords are coming out of his ass.

and i was wondering... what makes a band "necro" or "nekro" "nekkkro" however you want to spell it? i read that true black metal has little to no low end and minimal production value, if that has anything to do with it.

oh, and have you ever listened to extol? to date they are the only christian band i've ever considered good. unfortunately i've only heard Undeceived, but i enjoy it thoroughly for many reasons. they tear it up and have sweet time signatures. black metal for jesus!

I have heard Extol. they're okay. I just...Christian Black Metal does not exist. they're not black metal. you can't love Jesus and be BM. it's impossible.

necro is as you have described it. it's usually got sort of a high, shrill production, drowned out, hateful production. it's possible to be both grim and kvlt and not be necro, though.

ok i haven't even heard of grim, but i did read about kvlt on the boards a while ago in a big black metal discussion. is that like... being pagan or something?

yea my first thought was that extol couldn't be black metal, mainly because of what i understand black metal to be, but they can't be death metal because that's completely different. so i guess they're just a metal band, rocking for JC. i dig on their guitar riffs

TRVE refers to whether or not yov're totally fvcking bogvs. so, let's break it down: Immortal's Battles In The North is grim, becavse it is cold and evil as fvck. it is kvlt, becavse it's on Osmose, and because it's abovt movntains and Blasyrkh. it is not nekkkro becavse it has a sensible prodvction. it is trve because it slavghters all that it encovnters.

also, one cannot be trve vnless one replaces all of the letter "u" with "V."

I'm nowhere near an avthority on BM. I love it, bvt I don't live in a place where I can get tons of it or listen to all the stvff I want.
